What can I say I've been super busy with work, which has left little time for my personal work.... anyway I have a bunch of random stuff to upload from this past year...stay posted.

2011 Final Year Animation Student Film: Larry Boyd

Well here it is boys and girls, after a long wait I can finally put this sucker all up on the interwebs.
I had been holding off its online debut in hopes it would be selected for the Cartoon Brew Student Fest which requires it can't be already online, but since it wasn't selected there is no reason not to put it up......enjoy

So here's the final colour version, I finished it a few weeks ago.
This is a slightly different design to what was used on the website, basically just some colour adjustments, but I prefer this one....so here ya go!

The brief was basically a girl in an evening dress holding a martini glass.

2011 X mas card concepts

Well its that time of year again, and here are a few rough concepts for this years Christmas card.
It has become a bit of a tradition for me, and this is the 3rd year I've been making one, I almost didn't end up making one, but decided yesterday that I should keep the tradition going.

This is the version I decided to go with, I'll post the final coloured one tomorrow

I can't put the full film online yet coz I'm entering it into a few film festivals, and they have this rule that if its online already they won't except it into the festival.

So I've just completed my short animated film 'Larry Boyd' as part of my final year studying animation. I presented it the other day in front of an audience of fellow students and a panel of industry insiders, who from what I could tell found it hilarious..... which is sort of what I was going for.

Here's the rough design of the girl golfer for the golf day website.

I wanted to keep it stylistically similar to the male golfers design, but without the big nose and all.

Well here's the second design for the charity golf day.

It looks like they'll be using one of these designs on t-shirts, but they'd like a lady golfer also.
I'll post the concept sketch of the girl golfer tomorrow.

Charity Golf Day Designs

These are some rough designs I made for a Cystic Fibrosis Charity Golf Day website.

I'll chuck up the final colour designs when their done.

 I've used a similar character design on some previous sketches, and after doing a few concept sketches this design re appeared, and was the perfect style for what they were going for.
